Indira Gandhi Institute of pharmaceutical sciences, Bhubaneswar was founded in the year 1987 by the society, Indira Gandhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bhubaneswar ODISHA. A duly constituted Governing body having highly qualified managers in the Institute & experienced Professionals including in the Management for very effective functioning of college with an ultimate aim of producing highly qualified & excellent Professionals in the field of Pharmacy.
The Institute has as excellent infrastructure with full of Landscapes & green all around. It has highly impressive Campus encompassing all the modem educational & training facilities such as well equipped laboratories, classrooms, library, hostel, mess, canteen, transport, sports, games, Computer lab. A blend of highly qualified teachers in every discipline is headed by Dr. U. Laxmi Naryana Faculty members having the experience at leading pharmaceutical industry. At present following categories of Solutions are existing having pharmacy qualification and other related experienced persons.
The PG department has all the features to get recognized as centre for research by the university (Utkal University), which is under process. The department is actively involved in developing new analytical methods and their validation, characterization and quantitative estimation of possible impurities in various dosage forms.
The research focus of the department is analytical and bioanalytical method development and validation, stability studies, impurity profiling and pharmacokinetic studies.
